Dr. Liu originally hails from the Bay Area and developed a passion for behavior and training when she struggled to manage her own dog’s aggression many years ago. This journey took her from UC Berkeley, where she worked in an animal cognition laboratory as an undergraduate, to vet school at Cornell University, where she was awarded a scholarship for her efforts to improve animal behavior education.
Dr. Liu has a particularly strong interest in working dogs, and, in her free time, loves to explore the limits of her teaching abilities by training her Doberman for protection sports. She looks forward to meeting all the cats, dogs, and even parrots that improve our lives, and to helping us all improve the human-animal bond.
Dr. Liu started her residency in 2018 under the mentorship of Dr. Berger and Dr. Sung. As a resident, Dr. Liu receives structured supervision on all the cases she sees. She participates in weekly behavior topic rounds, case rounds and shelter rounds with our doctors and technicians.
